Conviction ratio

Convictions in a year compared with prosecutions in the same year. It is not a conviction rate.

The people convicted in a year are not all the same people who were prosecuted that year, because cases take time. So this is a ratio, not a conviction rate.

Court Day UK hides the ratio when it is over 100% or when there were fewer than 50 prosecutions. CPS publishes its own conviction rates by CPS Area, which count cases it finalised.
